In partnership with Calgary Campus Open Minds & Edmonton Inquiring Minds

Jube School offers teachers an opportunity to move their classroom to our site for a week of hands-on, multi-sensory learning. Student learning is enhanced by meeting curriculum expectations through meaningful connections to the arts. Students and teachers are led by our team through inquiry-based learning and exploration through tours, journaling, and a host of creative activities.  

This innovative approach to learning was pioneered by Gillian Kydd and Don Harvie, and since its inception in Calgary in the 1990’s, this immersive learning model has grown into an international movement from Newfoundland to Singapore. It is known in Calgary as ‘Campus Calgary—Open Minds’ and ‘Inquiring Minds’ in Edmonton, and various monikers in places beyond.

Half-day, single day or multi-day customized field trips

Our arts education programs are interactive, customized, and deeply rooted in curriculum. We offer a diverse range of artistic educational experiences designed to support personal and social growth, encouraging learners and educators to explore creativity in new and exciting ways. Let us help create a memorable and enriching arts experience for your students!

Field Trip workshops may include:

  • Front of House and Back of House Tours

  • Acting, Improvisation, Playwrighting, Clowning, Shadow Theatre, Stage Combat & Puppetry

  • Set, Costume & Prop Design, Stage Makeup, Light and Sound workshops

  • Dance: Ukrainian, Ballet, Hip Hop, Bollywood, West African & more

  • Indigenous Ways of Knowing

  • Visual Arts: Polymer clay, Watercolor, Mask making

Can’t join us in person? No problem! Fire up your Smartboard and have Jube school zoom into your classroom.

Online Classroom ideas:

  • Improv games, Playwrighting, Stage combat & Storytelling

  • Dance: Ukrainian, Ballet, Hip Hop, Bollywood, West African & more

  • Guided drawing
