Jube School Presents: Nutcracker Ballet with Stephanie Lilley

Join local professional dancer, Stephanie Lilley, for an online follow-along Nutcracker dance class. Stephanie will use storytelling and easy-to-follow dance technique to guide students through this classic tale. This class is designed for grades 2-5 and is inclusive of all genders. Students do not require any equipment nor special footwear. This is sure to be a festive, energizing, and enriching experience!

Recommended grades: 2 - 5

Supplies needed: No supplies needed, just room to dance!

About the artist: Stephanie Lilley is the 2017 Mayor's Award for the Arts nominee, and is the founder and artistic director of Viva Dance Company. Under her leadership, the company has performed hundreds of times and is a staple in the Edmonton arts community. In addition to The Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree, Fringe Festivals across the country, galas, and charity events, the company also brings dance to new markets such as hockey arenas (Edmonton Oil Kings) and fashion shows (Western Canada Fashion Week). Steph strives to empower dancers on and off the stage and advocates for equity for underrepresented dance artists.

Stephanie was part of the world-renowned Ukrainian Shumka Dancers (one of the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium’s resident companies) as a dancer, choreographer, and artistic consultant during which time she toured across Canada

For students & teachers: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM MST (classroom streaming)

*Only open to teachers in Canada. Please sign up through your school email, personal emails will be rejected. The link and passcode will be sent via email approximately 24 hours before the workshop.
